The 2020 Summer Executive Workshop-Black Economic Forum will be held this year as an online virtual event on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Following extensive research and lengthy consultation and discussion with the host organizations, Beta Iota Boulé and the Beta Iota Boulé Foundation, The Executive Leadership Council and McKinsey and Company, we jointly decided to forgo the in-person gathering. Given the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on our nation, we decided it is best to be abundantly cautious. The health and safety of our guests, members, and staff are our priority and we are taking the necessary steps to avoid unnecessary risks.
While we will miss convening in person on Martha’s Vineyard, it is imperative that this premier summer executive workshop goes on! We are confident that we will deliver the same high caliber content via a virtual platform. We are creating an agenda that will allow for information sharing, virtual engagement and idea generation.
We are embracing these unfortunate circumstances as an opportunity to engage additional corporate executives, professionals, thought leaders and philanthropists who otherwise may not have been able to join us on the Vineyard. We now can expand our reach and take our leadership and collaboration for advancing the black community to greater heights.
The 2020 agenda will continue our ongoing conversation around wealth creation and business ownership in the black community. We will focus on the racial wealth gap, how to create an effective community of practice around closing the gap, and delivering a call to action for deliberate solutions to address these disparities in the black community, including COVID-19 implications on our communities.
We will share details on registration, programming and speakers in the coming weeks.
